Experience
What is a portrait experience with Jennifer like?
Most people have never experienced a photoshoot.
I am here to walk you through every step of the process - from planning outfits, concept, and theme to guiding you through posing and expression, to post-session collaboration to ensure your images are perfect for you.
I want your images sing to your soul. Whether that's the most beautiful portrait you've ever seen of yourself, capturing the love between your most cherished people, or creating a unique creative art portrait - I want to make your photo fantasy a reality.

A week after the session, you come to my office and we go through your gallery, narrowing down which images and products you want, making any notes of photo edits you want done. Like your expression in one image but your pose in another? Let's talk.
Here's where we really start the fun part! We go over the theme, styling, clothing, hair, make-up, and if applicable, plan out scenarios, scenes, props, final artistic vision.
I am here for you the entire time leading up to your session Some clients do their planning in one session, others message with me right up until the day of the session.

FAQ
01. This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?
It's okay. I've got you. I will take you through this step-by-step.
We'll discuss the Why so that we can answer the when, where, "wear", and with who. I am here to answer all your questions and guide you through the process before, during, and after the day.
We start with a consultation call and go from there - and trust me, the call is much more productive than trying to go back and forth over email. I know you have a lot going on in your life, and the call will save us so much time.

05. Do you do on-location sessions?

On-location sessions are available for an additional fee. Destination sessions are also available.

04. What is your "client-closet"?

My Client Closet is a collection of fun accessories, props, fashion, and various accoutrements I have collected over the years. For my entire life, I've collected things I thought were cool, shiny things, unique things, nifty things, things that "oh, if I ever do THIS very specific thing, I will definitely NEED one of these!" My life of dragon hoarding treasures has manifested a studio full of fun things to play with during your photoshoot.
Don't worry - I've got you. You are beautiful, right now. Just as you are. You don't need to lose weight before the session. You don't need to be a pro model to have beautiful images. I am here to guide you through the outfit choices, styling, posing, and expression to showcase your absolutely beautiful You.
Each selected portrait is carefully and delicately retouched to elevate it to magazine level quality - to show you as you are on your best day. I want you to see yourself as the people who love you see you.

02. I would love to do a portrait but I (need to lose weight. I don't look good in portraits. I'm scared, I'm not beautiful enough. your models are great but I'd never look like that.

03. Headshot Package or Full Portrait Experience - What's the difference?

- Hair and make-up is not included in the Headshot Packages
- Headshot sessions do not include use of the Client Closet or Props
- With Headshot sessions, you only get few outfit changes;. With the Full Portrait Experience you get several more
- Backdrop options are limited to a few in the Headshot session. The Full Portrait Experience may use of any of the studio backdrops
- The Headshot session is a much shorter photoshoot than the Full Portrait Experience
- Headshot sessions are only for you and your company's team and does not include friends or family
- Headshot sessions do not include prints

06. I would love to do a creative themed or crazy fantasy portrait but I don't know where to start

That's what you have me for. We start with a consultation where we discuss your interests, styles your drawn to, and do a deep dive into what brings you joy. Then we storyboard possibilities for your ultimate fantasy photoshoot. Some clients come to me with very specific ideas and others come to me with no clue what they want to do - so whether you need me to bring to life your specific idea or you need me to dream up something for you out of my imagination, I've got you.

07. why an in-person selection session? Can't I just look at a gallery online?

There are two main reasons why we do this in person.
One, I often hear something along the lines of, "Oh, I love this image, but I don't like that my hair blew across my neck," or "Wow, I look great in this one, but my partner looks great in this one. Darn it." When we do the selection in person, I hear these concerns and can let you know that they are things I can change in post-processing. I realized long ago that when I sent online galleries, I never heard these concerns from clients, so they didn't pick their favorite images because they didn't realize I could tweak the images to make them perfect for them.
Two, I have a large, high-resolution, color-calibrated monitor. Your images will be much easier to see in their full glory on my screen. Much better than a laptop, table, or heavens forbid, a phone ;)
